From prenatal support to foster and adoptive partnerships to school readiness programming, Action for Children offers programming to support parents and guardians at each stage of their parenting journey with young children.
Help Me Grow Home Visiting is a free program that provides in-home support for families with a new baby or one on the way. Designed to help caregivers navigate their children’s development from birth to age three, Help Me Grow offers information on healthy pregnancy, child safety and learning, and more, as well as resources to meet families’ needs and answers to any questions they may have.
Families interested in fostering, adoption, or kinship care can learn more about each process and get step-by-step support through the services offered at Action for Children. We also help families prepare for pre-screening and home study inspections.
Action for Children offers a considerable number of parenting courses, workshops, and supports for fathers, mothers, and caregivers. These program offerings include:
FatherUp and Mothers Matter, group workshops designed to help parents improve communication, learn new parenting strategies, overcome barriers, and be the hero in their children’s lives.
The Positive Parenting Program, in which participants learn about goal-setting, problem solving and managing behavior for children ages 0-16.
Parents Who Parent Separately and Putting the Children First, court-approved classes through which parents learn to help children deal with divorce, separation and splitting time between two homes.
The Art of Positive Parenting, course offerings that help parents better understand the theories behind positive parenting and how to put parenting techniques into action.
