For Family Child Care (FCC) professionals seeking to meet Ohio’s child care licensing requirements, we offer training and pre-licensing services to make the process as convenient as possible. Licensed FCC programs are eligible for public funding and may participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and the Step Up to Quality star rating system. Through specialized courses and technical assistance, Action for Children helps makes each of these goals possible for FCCs. Once your program becomes licensed, we’ll also help you get it listed in our database and connect your FCC program to families in need of child care services through our Child Care Referral team!
The Child & Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a reimbursement program for Family Child Care professionals that allows programs to recoup the costs of nutritious meals for the children in their care. Participating programs are eligible for as many as three qualifying meals and snacks per child, per day, and also have access to technical assistance and training for planning and serving nutritious meals and snacks.
The Village at Action for Children is a professional Staffed Family Child Care Network (SFCCN) for Family Child Care owners and administrators, offering a variety of resources as well as valuable connection opportunities. Our free services through The Village include professional development, coaching and mentoring, community networking events, access to program materials and more.
