Following a request from community leaders, Action for Children gathered and shared critical data and qualitative feedback on the state of Early Childhood Education in Central Ohio. In particular, there was an interest in knowing what the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis is having on the child care industry and what child care providers in our community believed would help them remain open and financially viable for the foreseeable future.

The current proposal on the table for the COVID-19 relief package includes only $10 billion for child care, which is not enough to stabilize the industry. We know discussions are happening right now… and we need to get the child care investment up sooner than later if want to make sure there’s adequate funding for child care relief in the final package.
Thank a child care provider and ask how you can help them. These every day heroes have been there for us throughout this difficult year. Let them know you appreciate them, what it means that child care is there for you. Ask about volunteer opportunities or how else you can help them.
