Why I Take Action for Children

As a long-time board member of Action for Children, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share why I am deeply committed to supporting the mission of this organization.
My dedication to the AFC mission stems from my deep belief in the potential of every child and the crucial role that Action for Children plays in coordinating and providing essential resources to children and families in central Ohio.
During my time as a child care professional, I witnessed firsthand the power of community and the importance of collaboration in supporting the well-being of all individuals involved. Child care professionals often find themselves offering wraparound services that are critical to supporting families, from offering care during nontraditional hours to providing assessments to help parents engage in their child’s learning journey. My experience in early childhood education led me to believe that one of the most powerful ways we can take action for children is by taking action for the adults in their lives. When the families, child care professionals, and communities that a child relies on have the support they need to be their best, the children in their care thrive.
Throughout my time on the board, I’ve seen Action for Children serves as a true collaborator, providing a pathway to access quality care and education. Their commitment to bringing resources directly to families and early educators ensures that adults have the resources they need to make an impact, and that every child has the opportunity to grow, learn, and succeed.
