Care After School

Child Care Site Director

Overview

Care After School in Worthington, Ohio is the childcare provider for the Worthington School District’s after-school care program for children in elementary school, Kindergarten through 5th grade. The purpose of Care After School is to provide a fun and safe environment for children to play and relax while they wait for their parents/guardians to pick them up.

The Role

The Site Director:

Plans fun and engaging activities for the children while maintaining a safe environment;

Supervises a large number of children, as well as the Assistant Site Director and Recreation Leaders;

Problem solves, mediates, and resolves conflicts among children, staff, or parents;

Performs administrative functions of the program (documentation, obtaining supplies, etc.);

Completes state-required training courses through OCCRRA on time to maintain compliance.

Pate rate: $29,250/year.

Qualifications:

You are a great fit for the Site Director position if:

You are creative and like to plan fun and engaging events and activities for kids;

Have a solid understanding of developmentally appropriate behavior, language, activities, and conflict resolution techniques for children in kindergarten through 5th grade;

Have at least 2 years of previous experience working with kids (parent, teacher, coach, lifeguard, camp counselor, babysitter, etc.).

Are a welcoming person who is comfortable greeting and talking with parents/guardians;

You can work 30 hours per week (Mondays – Fridays, 1 hour of preparation; on-site 1 pm – 6 pm, August through May;

You have a college degree in a child-related field, with at least 4 courses in child development;
