In our continued effort to support families in Central Ohio, we are offering Child Care Affordability Scholarships to families that attend licensed Child Care Centers in Franklin County.

Please note that funds are limited and will be awarded until all funds are exhausted. Eligible Franklin County Child Care Centers (Type-C) may receive scholarships for their families for up to six children. Eligible families may be awarded up to $300 a week per child in tuition assistance with funds paid directly to the Child Care Center from Action for Children via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).

In order for your Center (Type-C) to be eligible to apply for a Child Care Affordability Scholarship on behalf of your families, you must be currently operating under an ODJFS Child Care License in Franklin County and have at least one child enrolled. Families seeking scholarships must meet the following in order to be eligible for these funds. 1) Their child(ren) must attend your site 2) Their child(ren) cannot currently be receiving assistance through the Publicly Funded Child Care (PFCC) program and 3) Household/family income must be under 300% Federal Poverty Level.

Action for Children will be taking applications and accepting documents for a two week window from June 1st – June 14th, 2020. Afterwards, the online application will close and those centers that meet the requirements and have turned in all their documents will move on to assessing. The assessing period will take place for a week starting on June 15th, 2020. Centers will be notified of approval during the week of June 22nd 2020. Scholarships will be awarded for four weeks with the first payment sent to Action for Children’s fiscal department on Monday, June 29th 2020 and each Monday thereafter. Scholarships may be extended past four weeks if funds are available.
