The Lead Teacher provides excellent childcare for children of Vineyard Columbus’ Early Childhood Center while making strong, meaningful connections with their families.

What you’ll do:

Teaching: Manage all aspects of the classroom, including class instruction, implementation of lesson plans, supervise classroom and playground behaviors and maintaining a safe environment
Planning/Procedures: Plan and carry out class operations to meet organizational goals, develop lesson plans in compliance with curriculum and early learning standards, carry out administrative duties such as completing accident/injury reports, maintain documentation of children’s growth and development.
Communication: Maintain positive and professional peer to peer relationships with program staff as well as with the program families; promoting childhood center and church activities, partner and meet with families to discuss child’s progress and developmental needs, and provide feedback to administrator regarding assistant teacher performance, etc.
Professional Development: Maintain required training hours, use skills to contribute to overall operations, meeting participation making recommendations for program improvement, work with Administrator to write and work toward ongoing goals.

What you bring:

A high school diploma or GED required.
AA Degree in child development, or related field preferred
Minimum of one year experience working with the associated age group (Infant, Toddler, Preschool)
Must be comfortable and competent in teaching and public speaking.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and web-based tools including social media

Qualifications:

2-3 years previous experience in a childcare setting
High School diploma (associate degree in child development preferred)
