NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) serves all schools or centers in early childhood education. Being NAEYC accredited is an honor representing each school or center with a commitment to early childhood development, professional development and their community.  Action for Children, funded through United Way’s Start Smart, assists centers in obtaining NAEYC accreditation by providing the following services:

  • monthly directors’ work groups
  • on site technical assistance to center staff using the NAEYC documents
  • financial assistance to deferring a portion of accreditation fees

More information can be found on NAEYC’s website.
