Child Care Ohio, sponsored by the Ohio Child Care Resource & Referral Association, is a comprehensive place to conduct a free search for child care and early learning programs in Ohio that are outside the seven-county central Ohio region served by Action for Children.
Child CareAware, sponsored by the National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Associations, is a free resource to find child care and early learning programs in every state throughout the U.S. In addition, the site offers a wealth of early childhood information for parents.
Ohio Department of Education A new Center for Early Childhood Development is being created within the Ohio Department of Education.
Ohio Department of Job and Family Services has information about subsidized child care, financial resources for families, and provider regulation.
Health
Healthy Start & Healthy Families has information about Ohio’s low and no cost health coverage program.
Ohio Help Me Grow is a program for Ohio’s expectant parents, newborns, infants, and toddlers that provides health and developmental services so that children start school healthy and ready to learn.
KidsHealth offers practical parenting information and news, as wells as special sections for kids and teens.
State Support Team Regiion 11 is a new agency that combines regional services provided by the former Central Ohio Special Education Regional Resource Center (COSERRC) and Central Ohio Regional School Improvement Team. This is a wealth of information for parents with children who have special needs.
Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities (formerly Franklin County MRDD) provides details on their website about eligibility, services and other information for families in Franklin County.
Columbus Speech & Hearing Center provides speech, hearing and deaf services, as well as opportunities to become more involved.
Columbus Hearing Impaired Program is part of Columbus City Schools and provides services for children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Easter Seals of Central Ohio and Southeast Ohio creates solutions that change the lives of children and adults with disabilities or other special needs, and their families.
PBS Kids provides links to children's public television programming, as well as links for parents and educators.
Child Care Information Exchange offers a free subscription to an email newsletter called ExchangeEveryDay, which offers current information, inspiration and resources for parents and educators.
Advocacy
Ohio groundWork Campaign is a coalition of early care and education leaders, parents, service professionals, business leaders, and organizations across the state who have come together to promote state investments and policies that address the needs of Ohio's young children.
KidsOhio.org is an Ohio-led, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that is working to improve the lives and education of Ohio’s nearly three million children, especially disadvantaged youngsters.
National Child Care Information Center, a project of the Child Care Bureau, is a national clearinghouse and technical assistance center that links parents, policy-makers, providers, researchers, and the public to information about early care and education.
National Institute for Early Education Research supports early education initiatives by providing objective, nonpartisan information based on research. The goal of NIEER is to produce and communicate the knowledge base required to ensure that every American child can receive a good education at ages three and four.
National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) provides national leadership to the membership network of child care resource and referral agencies located in states and local communities. Information about child care and early learning issues at the national level can be found on this site, along with information and links of interest to parents.
