The Art of Positive Parenting (TAPP)

As parents, choosing child care can be one of the most important and most difficult tasks we undertake. Knowing in advance that it is not an overnight process makes it a bit easier to tackle. In many ways, your child’s caregiver will be your partner in your child’s early education. The quality of care a child receives during these years can impact his or her success in school and life.

Action for Children’s job is to provide tools and resources that will help you feel confident with the decisions you make. One of these resources is our downloadable Take The Time brochure, which includes checklists to help you in your search.

In this section of our website, you will find additional resources to help you as you begin your child care search. Take the time now to prepare. Identify your personal needs and the needs you want fulfilled for your child. Become familiar with the different types of child care and early learning environments. We will help you determine what to look for in quality early care and education settings and provide some questions you will want to ask potential caregivers.

If you have questions or concerns about what is appropriate in an early care and education environment, or if you would like to speak personally with someone about your needs or concerns, please call one of our resource specialists during weekday business hours at 614-224-0222 (Franklin County), 740-369-0649 (Delaware County) or 937-645-2017 (Union County).

Interpretation services are available by calling 614-224-0222. In English, we will need the name, phone number and language for the person requesting assistance. We will make arrangements for a return phone call by one of our resource specialists.
