If you are thinking about providing child care in your home, then this section is just for you. Action for Children can help you build connections to a network of professional family child care home providers. Our registration program serves potential caregivers in Franklin and Delaware counties in Ohio.

By registering with Action for Children, you will be connected to:

  • Free referrals to parents who call looking for care in your area
  • Resources to help build your child care business
  • Access to food reimbursement through the Child & Adult Care Food Program
  • Simple access to free or reduced price trainings

To become a registered provider with Action for Children, you must be 18 years of age or older. You will also need to:

  • Provide the names of three individuals (not related to you) for personal references
  • Complete a medical physical which includes a TB test
  • Have a fire department inspection and a health department inspection of your home
  • You and each person living in your home 18 years of age and over needs to complete a Bureau of Criminal Investigation record check. Those who have not been in Ohio for the last 5 continuous years also need to complete a FBI record check
  • You and each adult in the home 18 years of age and over must also complete a Franklin or Delaware County Children’s Services background check
  • You and each adult in the home 18 years of age and over must complete a Franklin or Delaware County Sheriff’s record check.
