Career Paths

The early childhood field has many opportunities for adults who have a passion for young children, a commitment to supporting children’s development and a desire to make a difference in a child’s life and in the lives of their families. These opportunities vary depending upon a person’s education and experience.
There are different requirements depending upon whether you are considering a director’s or teacher’s position, working in a Head Start or public preschool setting, or working as a home provider.

There are also career opportunities that do not involve direct service with children and families. These include working with a public or private agency such as a children’s services agency, a literacy organization, an organization that works specifically on legislative issues, or you could work as an independent consultant with a variety of organizations.

We hope the information here will help you in your next step.
